Honestly?

Well, I've always tried to teach honesty to my kids. I apply it to my every day life and I believe in setting an example so my kids can emulate it. Don't get me wrong. I lie at times. It's hard not to. I tell the little white lie here and there. Sometimes to not hurt someones feelings or for some other reason. But, overall I try not to lie. Especially at work. So much so, that it actually cost me my job. I could have lied. I even thought about it and pondered the idea of actually doing it. But in the long run my person rule prevailed and I told the truth and it cost me my job.
There is a saying that says " the truth shall set you free". Yes, it might, but you better watch what else it will set free. Honesty is a two edged sword. People praise it and preach that you should abide by it but that's not really what they mean. What they mean is that if it's convenient to them ( whomever "them" might be), It will be considered, but they're not gonna take into account that you did not lie and look at the over all picture and say you did the right thing. No......They will come back and punish you for being honest. That's what they will do. So next time any of you want to go the honesty route, Think twice because honesty does NOT pay.
